Overview

While searching through M.A.I.L. for new weaves to try out, I found Vipera Beerus 4-in-1 by Loke. Vipera Beerus 4-in-1 is a member of the European family and a variant of Vipera Beerus that adds Vipera Beerus trim to a strip of European 4-in-1. Should you wish to try making this yourself, I recommend this tutorial by MaxumX, which I found helpful.

Materials

For the sample piece showcased in this post, I made the rings myself. I used 16 SWG Bright Aluminum wire from The Ring Lord coiled around a 5mm mandrel (for an approximate ID of 5mm) for an AR of 3.1.

Notes

The Vipera Beerus 4-in-1 weave is not complex to understand but can be challenging to create due to its use of low AR rings. Unless you use thick wire, which comes with its own challenges, getting a good grip on the rings with pliers can be difficult. The occasional use of bent nose pliers can be helpful, and patience is essential. Despite the difficulty, I find the weave tremendously aesthetically appealing. Bracelets, chokers and strapping are good uses for the weave, taking maximum advantage of its flat and wide cross-section. Structurally, it is essentially a three-ring-wide strip of European 4-in-1 with Vipera Beerus edges. Generalizing this concept allows for adding Vipera Beerus edges to any European 4-in-1 patch. While the weave looks fantastic, its difficulty means that it is best suited for experienced maillers or patient intermediate maillers.
